This really means so much to me. I’ve gained a whole lot more than I ever did in the past year. Your words have reached and crawled it’s way into my backbone, forever being a part of my base/foundation. Because of you, Shaun, Jun, Keone, Shikkinz, and everybody else on the top of the dance community I’ve been able to thrive in this little desert of mine. I rarely have the opportunity to visit a professional workshop, but I do have friends who are continuing to grow with me. What you said about foundations and beginnings really struck a chord in me. A few years all I could think about was how I NEEDED to get better quickly so that I could one day meet up with my inspirations and say ‘I made it’. I skipped alot of the basics and it wasn’t until recently when I found myself flustered at not being able to perform a basic routine that differed from my style that I started rewinding and reviewing what I needed. My friend recently visited LA and had the opportunity of taking a couple of classes form the ML studio. He came back with more experience than I could ever imagine. He told me about alot of the things you are saying now and that has also affected my outlook on how I should go about things. What I should be doing is enjoying the process of becoming a better dancer and taking that experience and growing from it instead of just forging forward and and only wanting to reach the end. IDK im just rambling now and i’m not sure if this is making alot of sense but I just wanted to let you know and everybody else in ML who has been my biggest influences to know that there words reach and affect people from even the smallest corners of the globe. Much love and respect :)
